Val and Faith take to the airwaves this morning with studio guest Dan Bolwell, a penny farthing builder and organiser of the Melbourne Tweed Ride. Val's dulcet tones share a quote from Gurdon S Leete before we all share our bicycle moments, including an appreciation of petrichor. 

We race through some items of local news including: a detour for the La Trobe Street bike lane users over the coming month, City of Melbourne's plans for Exhibition St and their Draft Transport Strategy requiring your input, and a recent article with some curious claims about the causes of cycling deaths. 

Talk turns to Penny Farthing's and Dan takes us through how he developed a passion for the machines, the different types of customers wanting a custom built highwheel, the ways in which they are ridden and the ways in which the technology lives on today.
