Wayne Rankin has lived at his place in North Warrandyte for 45 years, ever since he and Ruth Rankin built their Alistair Knox-inspired mudbrick house there. The garden they have built around the house is highly productive after decades of soil building, mostly using biodynamic techniques. And the community around them is also productive and dynamic because of the efforts made by Wayne, Ruth and the other residents to form helpful relationships with each other.
(Out of the Mist is a book about their street, telling the stories of those that have lived there, starting with the Wurundjeri Willum, traditional custodians of the place).
One Nature.
We are nature.
All people, and all species.
We are interconnected with nature, and with each other.
What we do to the planet and its living creatures,
we do to ourselves.
