To mark the start of Reconciliation Week, we chat with Josh Williams from Tumpinyeri Growers who farm on Djaara Country, following the principles of agroecology which are aligned with the knowledge of indigenous peoples around the world.
In their own words:
The word Tumpinyeri is from the Ngarrindjeri language. Tump means life and inyeri means belonging to. Belonging to life is how we see ourselves and as growers we use regenerative farming practices to honour this. Tumpinyeri Growers understand that healthy food comes from healthy soils and thriving ecosystems. Caring for country is the only way we can truly care for ourselves and all of life.
