Bunjileenee Robbie Thorpe gets on the line with Gurridyula, who is a part of hosting three events to celebrate thee three-year anniversary of Waddananggu.
From W-J Standing our Ground:
"For almost three years, we have held ground on the northern half of Adani’s mining lease to protect our homelands from destruction.
Since day 1 of Waddananggu, our stance has been simple: We, the Wangan and Jagalingou cultural custodians, are the rightful owners of the lands of our ancestors, and we have a human right to not only exist but thrive on our homelands.
We have proven our hereditary right to occupy our homelands and reside amongst the same trees that our ancestors’s placentas were placed in over thousands of years. The Queensland police can attest to our legislated right to co-exist with the Crown and other entities on our homelands.
We are hosting three momentous events to celebrate our three-year anniversary, ‘Magarran’, which represents the three stars in Orion’s belt, and we invite you to join us!"
