Cameco's Saskatchewan Secrets Part 1
This is part one of a two-part Radioactive Show special, looking at the uranium mining industry in the north of the Canadian province, Saskatchewan. The industry is dominated by one company, Cameco, and it is omnipresent. The people of Saskatchewan have been dealing with Cameco for more than 30 years, and their story is a painful one of community divisions, illness, censorship and radioactive contamination of their lands and traditional food sources. Do these voices foreshadow the experience of the Kintyre Traditional Owners, who are challenging Cameco's plans to open Western Australia's first uranium mine?
