Serenading Adela: A Street Opera

Saturday, 3 March 2018 - 10:00am to 10:30am

Serenading Adela: A Sreet Opera was a performance held on 7 January 2018 at the old Pentridge prison, in Coburg Melbourne. It tells a history of the anti WW1-conscription campaigns held nationally, but in particular the story of Adela Pankhurst, one of the key campaigners who was imprisoned briefly at Pentridge for her protests. The performance was a cooperation of many. A conglomeration of local choirs coming together as the Unruly mob, a band especially formed for the show and Lisa Marie Parker as Adela. Listen to recordings from the show and an interview with organiser, Nancy Atkin.
