On this show Marroushti speaks to Yara Alkurd a Melbourne based, Palestinian singer-songwriter, sound engineer and co-founder of @femjams a monthly all female identifying and non-binary jam session and dance space, held at @colour___club.

Yara has a fiery drive for human rights, feminism and equality which stems from strong Palestinian roots and the character shaping experience of migrating to Australia as a young teenager.
Yara’s smooth sound is a melting pot of neo soul, indie R&B and jazz with heavy influence from Amy winehouse, Lianne La Havas and Emily King. Yara made her debut on 2020’s International Women’s Day with a bold track, “Man Hater”, shortly followed by a blooming music video created by an empowering all female crew.
