Sacred Cowboys were a notable Australian post-punk rock band that emerged in 1982, founded by lead singer-songwriter Garry Gray and bassist Mark Ferrie. Known for their confrontational live performances, the band's lineup underwent numerous changes throughout their active years, which have included multiple periods of splintering and reforming.
The band released six albums during their career:

Sacred Cowboys (1984)
We Love You ... Of Course We Do (1985)
Trouble from Providence (August 1988)
Things to Come (July 1996)
Cold Harvest (January 2007)
Nailed to the Cross (February 2008)

Australian music writer Ian McFarlane highlighted their unique sound, describing it as a fusion of "post-punk moodiness and country raunch over a mutant swamp-blues backbeat," positioning them as one of the most electrifying live acts of their time.
In 2024, Garry Gray and Mark Ferrie reunited to reform Sacred Cowboys, now joined by Timothy Deane, Anthony Paine, and Damien Fitzgerald, completing their new lineup. This comeback coincides with the release of Cowboy Logic, an anthology showcasing the band's legacy and contributions to the music scene. Fans can look forward to experiencing both classic favorites and potentially new material as the band returns to perform live.
