Mark Moldre is a singer/songwriter from Northern NSW who fronted 4 piece Hitchcock’s Regret for 7 years before recording his first solo album in 2009 The Waiting Room under the guiding influence of Tim Powles from the Church and Michael Carpenter and Jim Moginie of Midnight Oil. The Waiting Room was well received, and described by Midnight Oil’s Drummer Rob Hirst as "A beautifully produced album of melancholic melodies; sad, grand, scary. 4 stars."
Mark Moldre’s music has taken him to festivals like The National Folk Festival and a highlight for the whole band, an invitation to play the Binic Blues Festival in France in 2018. An Ear to the Earth was released in 2012, Fever Dreams in 2019 and in 2023 Nambucca Fables.
Journalist Jeff Jenkins summed things up perfectly in his Rhythms Magazine review of Nambucca Fables:"Mark Moldre might just be the best Australian songwriter you’ve never heard of, Nambucca Fables shows that he should be on your radar."
