In the lead up to the National Day of Action Against Nuclear Power on March 11, the anniversary of the Fukushima nuclear disaster in Japan, we return to look at some of the major issues with Dutton's nuclear reactor proposal that would see nuclear reactors replace coal fired power stations or retired coal sites at: Tarong and Callide in Queensland; Liddell and Mount Piper in NSW; Port Augusta in SA; Muja in WA, and Loy Yang in Victoria, in the Latrobe Valley.
We hear from Wendy Farmer, Gippsland organiser with Yes to Renewables - Friends of the Earth's campaign for 100% renewable energy, climate jobs, and strong communities and Dr. Margie Beavis from the Medical Association for Prevention on War speaking at the Nukes Free Gathering in Naarm-Melbourne on the February 2.
Then we're joined by Stephanie Sabrinskas, organiser with the Nuclear Free Gippsland Alliance who are actively campaigning across Gunai Kurnai Country to raise awareness of the harms of nuclear energy and uranium mining.
We also catch up with Annette Brownlie from the Independent and Peaceful Australia Network to hear about their activies for the Global Day of Action to #CloseBases.
