The Sustainable Breakfast Series went to air again in 2015 following on from it's delicious success in 2014 with radical radio, a delicious free breakfast and live local music. A live audience joined 3CR breakfast presenters to discuss local sustainability issues, from setting up cheap renewable energy and workers co-operatives to urban agriculture and building resilient communities in the Yarra area from Monday-Friday, 23-27 March 2015, 7am-8:30am. Monday Breakfast - 23 March 2015 with Sue Leigh and John Langer
John kicked off the Sustainable Brekky series with Alice Robinson, a sci-fi author who writes science fiction exploring climate-change-affected futures (cli-fi). Then Sue and John chatted with Friends of the Earth Quit Coal co-ordinator Phil Evans about the latest from the Leard forest blockade. Sue spoke with Rachel Bendall from Solar Neighbourhoods, a residents' initiative in the City of Yarra to do a bulk buy of solar PV for household renewable energy production. Sue also spoke with regular guest Lew Wheeler from 'Fair Go for Pensioners' about budget attacks on pensioners. And lastly the Black Orchid band brought some songs of West Papuan resistance to the early morning audience.

Tuesday Breakfast - 24 March 2015 - with Emma Hart, Ania Anderst and Nicole Curby
First up Emma spoke with Emily and Megan from Friends of the Earth's renewable energy campaign Yes2Renewables. Emily and Megan discussed the current state of wind power legislation in Victoria and the broader push for renewable energy across Australia. Then Nicole spoke with Uncle Colin Hunter from the Wurundjeri Council. Colin told us about Wurundjeri occupation of the area, the impact of invasion, and the current work of the Wurundjeri Council. Ania spoke with Val Nagle about Second Chance Cycles in Collingwood, a community bike workshop offering affordable used bicycles and repairs in Collingwood since mid-2009. They offer workshops for day-release prisoners and people on community correction orders, as well as to locals in the community. Second Chance Cycles is located less that 10 minute walk from Victoria Park or Collingwood train stations near the corner of Johnston St and Hoddle St. Open Thursday and Friday. Ania also spoke with Sam Castro from Whistleblowers Activist Citizens' Alliance (WACA) and the Friends of the Earth Economic Justice campaign about the potential impacts of the Trans Pacific Partnership, especially it's harm to the environment through the Investor State Dispute Settlement provisions which would allow foreign companies to sue the Australian government if policy or laws in Australia might hinder a company's profitability.

Wednesday Breakfast - 25 March 2015 - with Emma Kefford and Reegan Bleechmore.
Reegan explored the latest happenings in workers' control and sustainabile climate solutions with Earthworker's Anna Boddenberg and Mark Tyler talking about the cooperatisation of their first factory Eureka's Future in Dandenong making solar hot water systems. Sticking with cooperatives Reegan chatted with Sarah Davis and Theo Kitchener from the Resilient Co-op Network about urban agriculture. Then Emma caught up with Gem Romuld and Colin Grimaud from the Friends of the Earth anti-nuclear and clean energy collective to hear the latest news in the struggle against uranium mining, waste dumping and weapons. And Emma spoke with Bich Ha Hoa from North Yarra Community Health about their domestic violence prevention program 'Living in Harmony'. Finally Drongo took the show out with a couple of tracks.

Thursday Breakfast - 26 March 2015 - with Dean Shingange and Kon Karapanagiotidis.
Dean and Kon started the morning with Paul Mahony from Meat-Free week talking about the environmental and ethical implications of eating meat. Afterwards they spoke with Friends of the Earth campaign co-ordinator Cam Walker about the campaign to keep the coal seam gas industry out of Victoria . Then Dean caught up with Andrew Kelly from the Yarra Riverkeepers about their efforts to protect the Yarra River and pressure on the State Government to introduce a Yarra River Protection Act. Dean and Kon were joined by three special guests after 8am, Scarlett, a student at Fitzroy Primary school and her garden teacher Heidi Sanghvi spoke about their kitchen garden program and Genevieve from the Friends of the Earth food co-op spoke about food sustainability. Then Genevieve swapped chairs and took the show out with some beautiful songs on her harp.

Friday Breakfast - 27 March - with Jim Power and Phillipe Perez
Jim and Phillipe kicked off Friday morning brekky with Gregory Crocetti and Briony Barr from the Scale Free Network talking about art, science and symbiosis storytelling. They've just published their second book for kids featuring symbiotic relationships between micro-organisms in coral and a tale about the impact of climate change on the Great Barrier Reef. Afterwards Jim spoke with Ajak Kwai, Sudanese (Dinka) musician and storyteller about songs from her homeland, songs about peace and cows. Next up Phillipe spoke with Friends of the Earth Land and Water campaigner Anthony Amis about pesticide use in water catchment areas. Phillipe also spoke with Ellie Watts from Cultivating Community about their compost pick-up service in the City of Yarra using cargo trikes! And finally the week finished with a very sweet-sounding set from Rose Turtle Ertler and special guests Morganics and 3CR's own Ronny Kareni.
